Community Hope Expansion and Development Action was found in Eastern Town of Addis Ababa, Area of Goro in 2017 by the Group of Students from different Universities and College, Through the result of visiting rural areas around Gambella Region western Ethiopia, by Gabriel Chieng Tot and Dr Chuol Ruey Kompuok. Assistant Professor of Ethiopian Civil Service University. I was cry due to limbo situation; we face it with brothers and sisters after dead of my father in cattle camp May, 1978. We saw many Children on the streets and it was clear to observe many of them are Orphan children, more vulnerable among the vulnerable as they are segment of the community, also we learn that many girls are dropout of school due to the cultural practice indigenous communities( Nuer and Anyuak) society whereas we found many young girls became a subject to child labor and force marriage in the part of Gambella Region and Refugee camp where South Sudanese reside, some community in difference place, especially in the Nuer society, Still practice it harmful traditional culture in 21 century.
After the trip I reached out to some of my colleague who study with me at Rift Valley University, Mekane University, Ethiopian Civil Service University and Addis Ababa University with a help from Dr Chuol Ruey, and Dr Riang Yer, we try to lay on some draft of bylaw, which was made earlier on , we sat down to discussed about the situation facing humanity around Gambella Region, within that phenomenal Regional Government is trying to address the situation in the Region but, Refugee are still in dire need, We need knew well that our involvement is to contribute our part toward same goals and solution greatly in place we held our first official meeting in the resident where I was stay, April 22/2017 is of a day’s one of the first meeting, we just only three of us, So we planned and committed to weekly meeting in order to plan the way forward.
Let the ideas of the registration as legal entity, First Name was, Christian Hope Ecumenical and Development Action, during the registration process, Ethiopia Government doesn’t allow any name affiliated to religious segment, Government advise us to change the name, we Change it to Community Hope Expansion and Development Action, the exist name of today. Community Hope Expansion and Development Action was born April 22/ 2017 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, after huge discussions with government almost two years, we continue engaging through conversation with authority, after long period of struggle, while we got our license, January:24/2019.
After we registered as a legal entity in Ethiopia, Dean of Myungsung Medical college in Addis Ababa, which is School let by Presbyterian Church of South Korea Dr Roger Holland donated generous support connected to his mother church in USA also is an American Citizen, through his gracious outreach to his church based back home in USA, they donated some money to help South Sudanese Orphan Children for them to return to school, through that same spirit , the first Presbyterian of Augusta USA donated , same miracles, was happen Professor Song Jung Kim vice dean of academy affairs Myungsung Medical College gratefully connected to All nation Church in USA and Korea donated the some items.
Fortunate enough, we met one of God loving person, Rev Jacob Faithhurt from the Church of Jesus Christ of latter days- saint, President of Addis Ababa Church branch, without hesitation, He donated some wonderful items to the Children, This item was distributed to Orphans Children in Addis Ababa and Refugee camp around Gambella; forever we are very grateful to Jacob Faithhurt earlier.
